Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez
A Festive Sailing Event
For one week, starting on the last weekend of September, Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez brings 300 sailing boats and 4,000 sailors together each year. From the shores of the Golfe de Saint-Tropez, the public can witness a majestic nautical spectacle: coastal cruises by modern and traditional sailing vessels, Optimist regattas. The marine ballet is accompanied by onshore events like live bands and a parade with the sailing crews. Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez is, first and foremost, a laid-back and festive atmosphere, in line with traditions and the peerless setting offered by the village of Saint-Tropez.
Septembre en Mer
For one month, Septembre en Mer gives you a chance to take part in 200 marine events in various locations around Marseille. Hard-core athletes have a go at wakeboarding, kitesurfing, dragon boats, Polynesian outriggers or towed buoys. There is shiatsu for relaxation lovers. Also on the agenda: products that highlight the local terroir, and activities for your little ones. This maritime event is organised by the Office de la Mer.
A Trip in a Pointu
Colourful fishing boats that are iconic in the Mediterranean, and especially in Marseille, pointus add to the poetry of the Provençal coastline. Lovers of these graceful boats, the members of the Marseille club, Boud’mer, will bring you on board for an unforgettable escape to the Calanques or Frioul, even a night-time outing when the city lights dance on the water. Further east, at Sanary-sur-mer, Les Pointus de Sanary will also share their enthusiasm during sea outings.
